L is for the way you look at me…

Easter break was quite possibly the best break I have ever had! First of all, Jake and I got officially engaged ! He took me to Duke gardens where we had our first date and proposed at the rose circle where we also happened to share our first kiss. It was so sweet, he got all dressed up and we spent a wonderful afternoon walking around the gardens. The ring is absolutely beautiful and I was not expecting something so wonderful! Jake did a really great job and found the perfect ring!

The day after the proposal Jake, his mom, his aunt, and I all went down to Hertford to see mom and dad and also to scout out some possible locations for our rehearsal dinner! We found a great location in an old Victorian house for the dinner. The house has been renovated into a tea room and restaurant and we chose Country fried steak, grilled chicken, mashed potatoes, and fried okra for our menu. It is all very southern food so I hope everyone is in the mood for some good home cooking! We are going to have the rehearsal dinner before the actual rehearsal so we don’t have to eat so late and that way we will all have food in our stomachs. We also enjoyed some nice time down at the waterfront in Elizabeth City. It is absolutely beautiful there, but I still like the Edenton water front better just because it is quieter and there are more trees around.

okie dokie. So, the next day ( we drove to Hertford and back all in one day) Jake and I went to register. We have our china pattern all picked out and it is beautiful! Now, I seriously doubt we will have much use for china when we first get married but you only have one chance to register for these things so we decided to go ahead and register for china and for every day dishes. Here are our two patterns

This first one is the china called”Ballet Ribbon” by Waterford

This second one is our “Sea Vista” pattern by Pfaltzgraff for our everyday dishes.

We also registered for a ton of things at Target, Bed Bath and Beyond, and Target. We even put things on our registry like a mop, Yahtzee, and Jake snuck Rock Band onto the one at Target. All of our registry stuff is on the other wedding web site though so I won’t go into any more detail about it here other than that we had a BLAST!

And ohhh…here is a picture of my engagement ring!
