Job searching…not for the faint of heart.

I know it is really too early to say I am getting worried about finding a job after graduation, but in reality May 10th is not that far away. This past week I applied to well over twenty jobs….and no one has gotten in touch with me. I have a feeling that finding a job after graduation isn’t going to be as easy as I thought it might be. I really don’t feel as if I am reaching for the stars on the jobs I have been applying for either. Most of the jobs are clerical jobs that say they require very little experience and education. I would think that someone with a BA in English could find an office job! Seriously, I applied for everything from management to marketing to clerical to administrative assistant to human resources…I tried to apply to a wide range of jobs this week!

I decided to expand my job search simply because I have been applying for a few jobs every week since the beginning of February and have gotten no response out of anyone. I thought that since the gap between now and May 10th is getting smaller that someone would have called me expressing at least a little interest…….but nope. hasn’t happened yet. I am using the job search engines monster, career builder, trianglehelp wanted, craigs list, work triangle, and i even searched for jobs at all of the local colleges and universities. I have also sent in about five applications for state employment as well.  I just have a bad feeling that this job search is going to get more and more frustrating as the days pass….

I realize nothing in life comes for free and that you always have to struggle to make something of yourself, but this is just so depressing already and the job search just started!
