the new place

thats right! I have gotten all moved into my new apartment! It is a very nice 900sq ft two bedroom, two bath apartment! YAY! It even has a sunroom instead of a deck which is a huge plus cause that means that callie can spend some time on the sundeck when she comes to live with me this weekend! I am so excited to have my kitty cat come back to live with meeee . I know that once Jake and I are married the apartment will probably seem a lot smaller but right now it seems HUGE! I have so many closets I have no idea what to put in them. I think there is a total of 5 closets and one built in book shelf which = lots of storage! I still have to set up the appointments for hair and cake and I still have to get my veil made, but other than that all of the wedding stuff is taken care of ! Horray!

well, I finally found a nice apartment complex that I want to apply to! They have a very good summer sale going on and today I am driving up to put in my application. Today I am also going to go pick up a pattern for my veil! I was going to buy one at Davids bridal but they were Sooooo expensive I just couldn’t bring myself to spend 100.00 or more on a veil! So, instead I bought some nice tulle fabric, and one of Jakes moms friends is a seamstress and she has offered to make my veil for me! I am so excited and so blessed to have people who are willing to do things like this! I will keep you all updated soon on the apartment hunt and on the veil as well!

where does the time go

once more I find myself with a total of three minutes to spare. Things have been going GREAT at work, and I think that I found a nice apartment to live in! yay! I have to turn in my application and fees this week, but hopefully everything will go through okay. I filled out the benefits package at work today and I am so happy to report that I have health and dental insurance! woohoo! Training is going really really well, but with waking up at 5:30 and getting home at 6:00 I find that I have little time to do anything other than collapse when I get home! I am sure I will get used to the hectic schedule, but I can already feel myself slipping and getting behind on wedding plans!! ahhh! the invites aren’t even done yet! eeek.

I have just been really busy!

I bought my wedding shoes, they are pink high heels and extremely cute! I just couldn’t bring myself to buy plain white shoes that looked all old ladyish. So Instead I bought these pink ones. I really wanted blue ones but all the blue heels that I saw were the wrong color. I also managed to get all of my wedding invites done so now all I have to do is help Jake and his mom get theirs done so we can send them out to people! YAY!

I also started my job today! It went really well except for the fact that the drive to Raleigh takes me about 45min with no traffic, so with traffic it takes a little longer. I really want to move close to my job after driving that horrible drive today. But everyone at work is really super nice! Okay, thats all for today but if anything interesting happens I will be sure to write.

how to murder a beautiful novel:

1. Get Employed by Disney

2. Decide to make a series of movies based on books

3. Change everything  in the book except for the first five and last ten minutes of the movie

4. Make one of the leading characters a Jerk when he is noble and has no problems in the book

5. Create a love interest between two characters that is not present in the Novel

6. Make the main character 5-8 years older than he is supposed to be in the book

7. Make an essential character go away completely except for the last five minutes of the novel

8. Create an elabortate and dramatic battle scene that is not present in the novel

All of these steps will lead you to the same tragic sucess that Prince Caspian is currently having in Theatres. This movie is so incredibly different from the Novel by C.S Lewis that if you read the book AFTER seeing the movie you would not recognize a bit of it. HORRIBLE. Poor C.S. Lewis is probably rolling over in his grave.

Leave it to Disney to ruin a perfectly good book!

hello All! Just a fast update because it is 2.23am and I am driving to Charlotte in the morning! But I did successfully graduate! Thanks to everyone who has supported me and who was there, and those who thought about me even though they could not be there, I love you all and thank you very much! I will write a longer blog on Monday probably to let you all know how things are going!

More Wedding Wreaths

okay so I wasn’t really happy with the way the wreaths I made the other weekend turned out. So, I decided to go to Michaels and pick up some new stuff for them. I bought a green wreath for the big one since the white Styrofoam was showing up so bad with the first one I made, also I bought a few new types of flowers for the smaller ones just so they could have some color and variety. I took the old ones apart and made these new ones, and this time I also hot glued all of the flowers! I think my wreath making skills are improving.

Tonight was really fun! Three girls from my Victorian lit class came over to study for the final which is tomorrow morning. I must say I love hanging out with people who share a love for literature because we all understand the same jokes . In the words of one person…”English major jokes are witty”…or something like that haha. Well, lexi had the idea to make dinner so she bought the chicken and I got the vegi’s and we made Thai coconut chicken! yum. However, we did decide the recipe needs peanuts and brown sugar. I love cooking for friends because you can always get great ideas for new recipes! Then, of course, we had to have desert so we had chocolate chunk brownies…(okay talking about all this food is making me hungry again!) But anyways, we got so much studying done and I believe we linked together pretty much all of the works in some way or another so we have lots of ideas for good essays since we have to write three tomorrow for our exam. We were planning to watch Juno but we kept getting side tracked with funny stories so we ended up calling it a night at 9 ish, but of course Top Chef came on at 10 (and who can resist top chef?) so lexi stayed over and we watched it…luckily she dislikes all the people on the show that I dislike so we had a good time. I really will miss hanging out with everyone and taking English classes once this semester is over. I guess graduation is bittersweet in a way.

Classes? what are they?

Today was the last day of class. EVER. Well, okay so I do want to go back and take more German classes and some photography classes, but that will be a few years away or so and even then it won’t be 18hours at a time…more like 3hours .

My excitement on this subject simply cannot be contained!

I have been happy and excited all day. College really has been good to me! Despite all of the roommate problems through the years I did end up with three good roomies that I will always be great friends with and two of them are going to be bridesmaids in my wedding! So, through all the craziness of some random classes, living in 7 different rooming situations, transferring colleges second semester sophomore year, and completing some 186 credit hours, here I am! No more classes! Horrah!

A Wedding Project

So I am trying to figure out what type of wreathes to put on the pews for the wedding. We are going to put them on every other pew. Here are the two I made yesterday. I really like the first one a lot but it took a lot more materials and you can still see the styrofoam wreath through pieces of it which is really annoying. Maybe if I painted the styrofoam green it could help. The second one is a lot easier to make and a lot cheaper as well, but it doesn’t pack the same punch, still I think it might look really cute if i put some brighter pink flowers in it. Let me know what you think!

so the price difference between these is that the first one costs probably about eight dollars and the second one costs about 3-4 dollars.
